NAME: Louise Kirkpatrick

ALIAS: Elbereth

MUTATION (POWERS): Louise can conjure orbs of light and heat. The heat radiated by the orbs increases with the intensity of light. These orbs can serve any purpose from blinding or burning a foe, to warming your hands, or simply giving light to see by.
Her skin also glows at times, though so far this is only involuntary and only happens when she is exceptionally happy.

AGE: 17

DESCRIPTION OF BODY (BUILD, HEIGHT, UNIQUE FEATURES, ETC.): Somewhat tall (about 5’10") and thin, kind of Elvish looking, narrow, angular face with high cheek-bones

HAIR COLOR AND STYLE: Louise’s hair is black with a silver lock on the right side of her face, with a couple of thin silver streaks throughout her hair. She has fine hair, but it is plentiful, and slightly wavy.

EYE COLOR: Deep blue

RELATIVES: Mother and father

ETHNICITY: Irish, second generation American

HISTORY: When Louise was young, she was scared of the dark; when she was five her night light went out and she thought she saw all sorts of creatures surrounding her. Terrified, she conjured a small orb of light without realizing it. As she got older, she started playing with her powers, she would sit in her dark room and watch orbs of light chase each other about the ceiling. To Louise, her powers were an amusing toy, and she never dreamed that other people might be frightened by them. For her tenth birthday, she had her first sleepover and showed off her ability to her friends, this was also when her parents found out about her mutation. They were startled and from then on there were always rumors about her around school. The rumors grew until the students believed that she was inhuman, and perhaps dangerous.
Louise withdrew from everyone, even asking to be home-schooled, and was untrusting for she found that people simply tried to talk to her because of their curiosity about the ‘freak.’ She refused to let people close to her, and the "mistake" that led her to enroll at Xavior's school was allowing herself to entertain a crush. When the boy she liked (Kain Bethell) kissed her, she started to glow. She couldn't stand the look of what she believes to have been shock and horror on his face, and attending Xavior's school is her way of escaping facing the boy again.
Louise is a junior in high school, and this is her first year at Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

HOBBIES: Reading, writing, anything to do with Middle Earth. She loves to be outside at night.

PERSONALITY: Shy and quiet, kind of a loner, but can be talkative when around friends.

OTHER: Louise is a bit of a nerd, she loves “Star Wars,” and “The Lord of the Rings,” and anything to do Tolkien’s Middle Earth. Being so interested in Tolkien’s work, she decided to call herself by a name taken from his mythology, she named herself Elbereth, after the Elvish goddess-type figure, who was said to have created the stars. Louise tends to start to glow when she is happy.

WEAKNESSES: Louise is claustrophobic, and has a fear of oppressive darkness.

Virginia: A short-story about an artist, bound with purple embroidery floss. Also a necklace with a blue crescent moon pendent.
Bobby: A short story about an eagle, mostly just imagery about his flight, bound with silver embroidery floss.
Victor: A short story about a dragon, focusing on its thoughts about the outside world and its treasure trove, bound with blue embroidery floss.
Krell: A short story about a wolf, mostly just focusing on the imagery of his surroundings, bound with green embroidery floss. Also a small wolf figurine.

I know, not very imaginative, but she likes simple home-made gifts. I guess folks can ask questions if they want any more details.

2011-07-22 [ZeoOfFire]: It would help if I could work out how to use my scanner. Recently, I've been drawing, taking a photo with my phone, linking it up, then (badly) photoshopping the lines, and sometimes colours, ending up with the monstrosities on my deviantart.

Me, or Zeo? Personally, I find pictures that look similar to what I want, place a piece of paper over my computer screen and gently trace the lines. Then I change clothes, hair, and make other edits before inking, colouring, or shading, whatever I decide to do for that picture.

2011-07-23 [~Valkyrie~]: Thanks, Zeo. I've been thinking about getting a tablet, but I'm thinking that a touch-screen computer might be a lot easier, for both art and World of Warcraft. :p

My bamboo was completely worth the investment and I think I have a link to download cs4 if you've got utorent.

2011-07-23 [~Valkyrie~]: I've been told that bamboo is good, I just don't have the money for it right now, and I know I'll have the same trouble as Zeo with the tablet. That's the only thing that's hindered me from actually seriously looking. ...I had utorent for a while, but I could never figure out how to get it to work...
